Director, Diversity & Inclusion Defense Systems and Space Systems Sectors

Dr. Jennifer Farmer is Director, Diversity, and Inclusion for Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems and Space Systems sectors based in Northern Virginia. In her role, she is responsible for directing, designing and implementing global and domestic diversity and inclusion strategies, programs, policies and procedures to recruit, retain, develop, and promote a diverse workforce for the Company and sectors. 

She also facilitates the Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council for the sectors, developing areas of focus to further advance diversity and inclusion. In addition to her duties within the Company’s business sectors, she is also the Enterprise Lead for diversity and inclusion education, which includes developing and managing educational offerings, tools, and resources to cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Dr. Farmer is also the Founder and CEO of Renewed Mindset LLC, a consulting firm that focuses on global diversity and inclusion, team and organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence. She is committed to developing and implementing diversity strategies that lead to a more inclusive workforce and drive company success.

Prior to founding Renewed Mindset LLC, Jennifer spent ten years with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals where she served in a number of capacities across the Finance and HR functions, including Director, Diversity, and Inclusion Business Lead for several business units. Prior to Pfizer, she held financial and customer support positions at Bristol-Meyers Squibb.

Jennifer’s research interests include global diversity and inclusion, organizational culture, leadership, organizational learning, and organizational change.

Jennifer, a Florida native, received her MBA from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning from The George Washington University (GWU). Jennifer is an advisory board member for the Diversity Executive Leadership Academy in conjunction with Diversity Training International (DTUI). She is also a member of the Academy of Management, Society for Human Resource Management, Black Doctoral Network and the FAMU and GWU Alumni Associations.
