Jeffrey Allen is the Dean of Enrollment and Outreach at Vance-Granville Community College. At VGCC, he has oversight of enrollment management, admissions and records, student success, testing, career services, male mentoring, student activities & athletics and counseling. Jeffrey is a strong advocate for student success, equity and providing excellent service to all stakeholders.
Jeffrey’s professional background includes 14 years of K-12 experience and 5 years of higher education experience. His K-12 experience includes positions such as math teacher, dean of students, interim charter school director and a private school assistant principal. His higher education experience includes being a coordinator of basics skills, director of leadership & professional development, and student activities & athletics. At VGCC, Jeffrey has served on various committees such as the Vanguard Vision committee which he co-chaired that developed the college’s current strategic plan.
As a community college leader, Jeffrey believes he is in the business of changing lives through education. His own education includes earning a bachelors of science degree in mathematics from North Carolina Central University, and a masters of science degree from Western Governors University in Curriculum and Instruction. He is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at North Carolina State University where he is in the process of earning a doctor of education degree in Adult and Community Education. Jeffrey’s biggest accomplishment is being a husband and a father.
